HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope this update finds you happy and healthy for the New Year.
Looking back at 2008 has turned out to be a tough year. And I hope that 2009 is bigger and better!
Tim switched jobs this year, and enjoys this one much better than the last job. I have been promoted at my job, and I still love my job—that is not common anymore. So I feel very lucky to HAVE a job and like it at the same time!
Stephen is adjusting to all his close friends being away at school and realizing that being an adult isn’t as much fun and a high school student. He is starting the second semester at Meramec and working at Toys R Us—I feel that this is a great job for him as he is a magnet for kids and he loves to play with toys all day. He is still trying to figure out what he wants to do for a degree, and where he wants to transfer for school next year. We hope that we will have a release from the orthopedic surgeon on Monday regarding his knee, and to find out how the long term looks in regard to his knee holding up. He quit White Castles after working there for 2 years.
Sami had a very exciting marching band this season. The Rockwood band made the highest scores in school history, they just got back from playing in the Disney parade and NASA, the band was invited to the inaugural parade and to the Independence day parade in WA in 2009 but had to turn both of them down, due to not being able to come up with enough money to get there. Sami was a sophomore section leader for the saxophone section, and was chosen to play in the West County District Honor Band and is in the 2008-2009 RSHS Jazz Band. She got her driver’s permit in June and is driving with Tim and will start drivers education this semester, I can’t believe that my baby will be driving alone this summer. We will be ordering her class ring this spring and starting to look at colleges, I don’t know where the time is going! She is too young to go to college!
We only had 1 new addition to our family this past year, Genevieve Elizabeth Brown was born January 30, 2008 and is the cutest thing ever, she is a handful for mom and dad, and big brother Dalton is adjusting to having to share with his sister and to hide when she starts coming for his stuff.
This 2009 year will have many exciting things happening, Tim and I will be turning 40, Sami will be 16. I will be participating in the 60 mile, 3 day walk for Breast cancer in August. I will be getting together fundraisers real soon and I will be sending more information out as it becomes definite. If you would like to help me in this journey, please feel free to let me know, I would love the help!
As always and even more so now with the economy as it is, please keep All Paws Rescue in mind when you are cleaning out your home and/or have items that you would like to donate. They also have many animals available for adoption if you are looking for a new “family member” for your home.
I am in the process of updating the photo gallery; Take a look at it; Sign our guestbook and let us know what you think!
Here is to a wonderful 2009!
